The Severn Gorge Countryside Trust looks after more than half of the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site — an extraordinary landscape shaped by nature and history.
We care for 52 special sites spread across 289 hectares of woodland, meadows, and historic features, and maintain over 25 kilometres of public footpaths for everyone to enjoy.
Our mission is simple: to protect and enhance this unique landscape while ensuring it remains open and welcoming to all. We carefully balance public access with the conservation of wildlife habitats, cultural heritage, and the stunning natural environment that makes the Gorge so special.
Through community projects, volunteering, and education, we inspire people to connect with the landscape and understand why its protection matters. By working together, we can ensure this remarkable place is cherished — not just today, but for generations to come..
Outdoor Learning Programme
Each year we put together our Outdoor Learning Programme, filled with wonderful workshops, walks and talks that’ll get you engaging with nature in creative and interesting ways.

School Visits and Work Experience
We offer fun, hands-on adventures in nature that spark curiosity and are designed to link with the national curriculum. Children will explore, discover, play, and learn as they connect with the natural world.
