During a recent volunteer session at Jiggers Bank, our team made an exciting discovery — a harvest mouse nest carefully woven in amongst the bramble.

The harvest mouse (Micromys minutus) is Britain’s smallest rodent and a priority species for conservation. Their distinctive tennis ball–sized nests, usually built above ground in grasses or reeds, are a strong indicator of healthy grassland habitats.
