Join us and wonderful local artist Sophie Woodhouse for an art filled weekend this September! This 2-day course will take you through the whole process to make your very own botanical screen prints – starting by foraging for fruits, leaves and berries, brewing and mixing the pastes and then creating art from those pigments!

On the first day we will forage for berries and plants, gather kitchen waste and use botanical extracts to brew and mix print paste. The colours, both subtle and vibrant, can be over-printed with modifyers which will change them in a magical way.

On the second day you will learn screen-printing techniques and explore the botanical pastes using ideas which can be as simple as mark-making and overlapping shapes. Imagery can be inspired by nature, the landscape or just enjoying abstract pattern.

Perfect if you are wanting to try something new, or improve your artistic skills or knowledge.
