She has attended many events promoting the benefits of composting\, and is a keen organic gardener and composter herself. Louise has a professional background as a training facilitator in the voluntary sector. \nSevern Gorge Countryside Trust \nThis workshop is being hosted by the Severn Gorge Countryside Trust\, a local charity. \nThe Trust’s aim is to promote\, protect and conserve the living landscape of the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site\, which has a diverse range of habitats\, including wildflower meadows\, woodlands and heathlands. But that’s not all! We maintain over 20 kilometres of footpaths\, conserve and protect 60 historic structures\, run exciting Outdoor Learning and Volunteering Programmes to encourage local people and visitors to engage with the natural environment in a variety of ways. \nAll proceeds from this workshop will support the work of the Severn Gorge Countryside Trust.

DESCRIPTION:Join us at Patten’s Rock Quarry within Benthall Edge to do our annual orchid count on this fantastic site! We will be counting common spotted\, greater butterfly and twayblade orchids\, as well as keeping an eye out for other interesting species. \nTerrain: Steep with steps – 20-30minute walk to the site! \nMeeting Point: Coalbrookdale Community Centre\, 2 Wellington Rd\, Coalbrookdale\, Telford TF8 7DX \nOr Benthall Hall Car Park\, Benthall Hall\, The Avenue\, Broseley TF12 5RX \nIf you are not registered as a volunteer with the Severn Gorge Countryside Trust\, but would like to get involved\, please send an email to vco@severngorge.org.uk or call 01952 433880 before booking! \nWhat you need to know \n\nAll activities are subject to change at short notice due to inclement weather or other circumstances.\nOur minibus can take you to the site\, picking up at 9.45am from Coalbrookdale Community Centre on Darby Road. Or you can meet on site(Volunteers are informed each week if we will be using the minibus)\nIf you will be travelling in the minibus\, please inform us in advance to ensure there are enough seats.\nBring sturdy footwear (preferably steel toe-capped boots for practical activities)\, outdoor clothing\, waterproofs\, refreshments and packed lunch.\nWe provide tea/coffee and biscuits in the morning break.\nWe will provide tools\, training\, gloves\, hard hats\, goggles\, hand sanitizer.\nPlease use only the trust’s tools for insurance purposes.\n16/17-year-olds will be asked to provide parental permission before taking part.\nPlease check your Tetanus injections are up-to-date.
