SUMMARY:Volunteering at Patten's Rock Quarry
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Benthall Edge woodland where we will be harvesting some coppice stools and collecting any hedge stakes and binders. We will work to protect the cut stools from deer browsing. \nTerrain: Uneven with steps and slopes \nMeeting Point: Bower Yard or Coalbrookdale Community Centre \n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf you are not registered as a volunteer with the Severn Gorge Countryside Trust\, but would like to get involved\, please send an email to vco@severngorge.org.uk or call 01952 433880 before booking! \nWhat you need to know \n\nAll activities are subject to change at short notice due to inclement weather or other circumstances.\nOur minibus can take you to the site\, picking up at 9.45am from Coalbrookdale Community Centre on Darby Road. Or you can meet on site(Volunteers are informed each week if we will be using the minibus)\nIf you will be travelling in the minibus\, please inform us in advance to ensure there are enough seats.\nBring sturdy footwear (preferably steel toe-capped boots for practical activities)\, outdoor clothing\, waterproofs\, refreshments and packed lunch.\nWe provide tea/coffee and biscuits in the morning break.\nWe will provide tools\, training\, gloves\, hard hats\, goggles\, hand sanitizer.\nPlease use only the trust’s tools for insurance purposes.\n16/17-year-olds will be asked to provide parental permission before taking part.\nPlease check your Tetanus injections are up-to-date.
