SUMMARY:Volunteer Tools Training
DESCRIPTION:Join us at SGCT HQ for some tools training with Roots to Fruit Midlands! \nThis session is designed to give volunteers extra confidence to use hand tools and basic power tools safely and efficiently whilst carrying out tasks on our sites. We will cover the commonly used hand tools as well as some power tools\, including line strimmers and hedge cutters. \nParticipants will gain a certificate at the end to say they have attended. \nPlease note places are limited to 15! If you book and cannot attend please let me know ASAP via vco@severngorge.org.uk.  \nTerrain: Flat \nMeeting Point: Severn Gorge Countryside Trust\, Darby Road\, Coalbrookdale\, Telford\, TF8 7EP \nIf you are not registered as a volunteer with the Severn Gorge Countryside Trust\, but would like to get involved\, please send an email to vco@severngorge.org.uk or call 01952 433880 before booking! \nWhat you need to know \n\nAll activities are subject to change at short notice due to inclement weather or other circumstances.\nOur minibus can take you to the site\, picking up at 9.45am from Coalbrookdale Community Centre on Darby Road. Or you can meet on site(Volunteers are informed each week if we will be using the minibus)\nIf you will be travelling in the minibus\, please inform us in advance to ensure there are enough seats.\nBring sturdy footwear (preferably steel toe-capped boots for practical activities)\, outdoor clothing\, waterproofs\, refreshments and packed lunch.\nWe provide tea/coffee and biscuits in the morning break.\nWe will provide tools\, training\, gloves\, hard hats\, goggles\, hand sanitizer.\nPlease use only the trust’s tools for insurance purposes.\n16/17-year-olds will be asked to provide parental permission before taking part.\nPlease check your Tetanus injections are up-to-date.
